The Production Manager is responsible for the backstage and technical aspects of the show; it’s their responsibility to bring the non-acting parts of the Director’s vision to life.
I’ve been working for years with live bands and in corporate events, and having moved recently into working in theatre sound I am looking at getting as much experience as I can doing my own sound design for the play.
My experience so far with Peculiar Productions has run the gauntlet from exhilarating to exciting and every possible emotion in between. I’ve been involved in theatre for around 15 years now but this is the first big show I’ve solo-directed since school, and staging a Pratchett directly following on from Amy Davies’ Monstrous Productions left…
In terms of video designer, I come from a stage management background but was asked whether I could take on the video design role for this play. I didn’t have much experience at the outset so it’s a challenge but I’m confident we’re doing some great work and expanding into areas we haven’t explored yet.
A big thanks to everyone who joined us on Saturday night for our first fundraising event — a Peculiar Quiz! We collectively raised over £240 for the upcoming production, which is a fantastic start (and will buy us a LOT of Wizzard hats)…
